In March 2011, Diane Berke & René Ragan each answered a stunningly unexpected yet irresistible call of the heart: to journey to South Africa to participate in the first initiation offered by the School of Sacred Warriorship, a program developed and led by Linda Tucker of the Global White Lion Protection Trust and Andrew Harvey. The initiation included opportunities to encounter and spend time with the White Lions in their natural habitat - a powerful, profound, and life-altering experience.

The African people hold White Lions as sacred beings who are humanity’s guardians in times of transformation. For the African shamanic tradition, they are seen as transmitters of divine love and wisdom. Their natural and spiritual homeland is the Timbavati region of South Africa, neighboring the Kruger National Park, where snow-white lions were born into wild, golden prides. Tragically, the cubs were captured and bred for financial gain - for zoos, circuses, and “canned trophy hunting” operations. Consequently, the White Lions became extinct in the wild by 1993.

The Global White Lion Protection Trust is now changing this, having re-introduced two prides of White Lions back into the wild of the Timbavati.

In this gathering, Diane and René will share how their time with the White Lions profoundly impacted their own spiritual journeys and transformed their vision of the divine in nature. They will also share experiences and photographs of their visit to an elephant sanctuary, to the Kruger National Park, and to a village where the chief is working against the odds to pass the indigenous culture, arts and wisdom on to the next generation. 

We hope you will join us for this powerful evening of sharing both heartbreak and celebration - heartbreak at humanity's blindness to the divine presence embodied throughout the creation and celebration that the earth and her creatures continue to pour out love and hope for our awakening. 

All proceeds from the evening will benefit the Global White Lion Protection Trust.
